Smile and Laugh
"That is the best; to laugh with someone because you think the same things are funny." - Gloria Vanderbilt
I love to laugh. Doesn’t everyone? There's something about that uncontrollable physiological response to something we perceive to be funny.
People are often bonded to one another through laughter. Friendships are formed. Someone with the same sense of humor is likely to have other similarities we value. We look forward to getting together with long-time friends or family members that we can laugh with. Those are the ones we know well enough, have spent enough time together, to understand each other's sense of humor. Usually, the funniest stories we share are those about ourselves and the things we've done together. Who are some of the key people in your life that you often find yourselves laughing together? Seek to spend more time with them. They are good for your soul.
I can clearly remember some of the past times with my siblings, or with a few certain friends where we laughed so hard that it physically brought me to pain. Well, my stomach and face hurt for sure. Or times you laughed so hard it literally brought you to tears, or made you feel like you couldn't breathe? Even just thinking about some of those times cause me to chuckle, even now. Can you remember a time where you laughed so hard it 'hurt'? Think about them and I bet it brings a smile to your face, or maybe even a giggle!
However, in general, I tend to laugh with most people I come in contact with. I typically use humor to lighten the mood. To keep things relaxed. And just to have fun and add some laughter with those I come in contact with. Not like I was ever the class clown or anything, but I definitely like to get a chuckle from those around me. Maybe it's through a silly story, or stupid "Dad Jokes" or one-liners, it's just fun to share a good laugh.
Here's a few jokes to start your day:
A woman was sipping on a glass of wine, while sitting on the patio with her husband, and she says, "I love you so much, I don't know how I could ever live without you" ...
Her husband asks, "Is that you, or the wine talking?" ....
She replies, "It's me...talking TO the wine."
Or how about this one:
A little old lady goes to the doctor. “Doctor, I have this problem with gas, but it really doesn’t bother me too much. My farts never smell and are always silent. As a matter of fact, I’ve farted at least 20 times since I’ve been here in your office. You didn’t know I was farting because they don’t smell and are silent.” The doctor says, “I see. Take these pills and come back to see me next week.” The next week the lady comes back. “Doctor,” she says, “I don’t know what you gave me, but now my farts – although still silent – stink terribly.” The doctor says, “Good! Now that we’ve cleared up your sinuses, let’s work on your hearing.”
One final one:
A man walks into a psychiatrist's office wearing nothing but underwear made out of Saran Wrap... The psychiatrist says to the man, "Well...I can clearly see your nuts!"
By seeking out more opportunities for humor and laughter, you can improve your emotional health, strengthen your relationships, find greater happiness—and even add years to your life. Take some time to smile and laugh today with the people around you.
Make today a great day!

"I live by this credo: Have a little laugh at life and look around you for happiness instead of sadness. Laughter has always brought me out of unhappy situations. Even in your darkest moment, you usually can find something to laugh about if you try hard enough." – Red Skelton
