Happy New Year's Eve from S.U.M.M.I.T. Leadership and Curtis Hirata

Happy New Year's Eve, friends and family! As the closing of one year comes to an end and the excitement and anticipation of a new one approaches - I am reminded to reflect back on 2011 and create a plan forward for 2012 to ensure greater outcomes. How was this year for you? Did you accomplish things you set out to do from the beginning? Were you able to kick off 2011 and sustain action on the resolutions you set? If you are like most people...I would venture to guess that you have not. I'm not criticizing...we've all been there! But ok, a new year is coming. Time for many of us to set annual New Year's Resolutions. For me, this always puzzled me. One time a year that we could focus in and make drastic changes in our lives and start anew? The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing and becomes nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn and feel and change and grow and love and live - Leo Buscaglia Sent from my BlackBerry

Control your future

You control your future, your destiny. What you think about comes about. By recording your dreams and goals on paper, you set in motion the process of becoming the person you most want to be. Put your future in good hands - your own. - Mark Victor Hansen Sent from my BlackBerry

Work to do

If you go to work on your goals, your goals will go to work on you. If you go to work on your plan, your plan will go to work on you. Whatever good things we build end up building us. - Jim Rohn Sent from my BlackBerry

The Path

Most people will focus on why they can't do something. Others focus on the prize. I focus on the path and process I must take - Robert Kiyosaki Sent from my BlackBerry

Humble people don't think less of themselves ... they just think of themselves less. -Norman Vincent Peale Sent from my BlackBerry

Good Character

A good character is the best tombstone.  Those who loved you and were helped by you will remember you when forget-me-nots have withered.  Carve your name on hearts, not on marble.  ~Charles H. Spurgeon Sent from my BlackBerry

Vigorously Act

Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success. - Stephen A. Brennan Sent from my BlackBerry

It's how you interpret

It's never the environment; it's never the events of our lives, but the meaning we attach to the events - how we interpret them - that shapes who we are today and who we'll become tomorrow. - Anthony Robbins Sent from my BlackBerry

Unleash your imagination

Nothing limits achievement like small thinking; nothing expands possibilities like unleashed imagination. - William Arthur Ward Sent from my BlackBerry

What you perceive

The reality of life is that your perceptions - right or wrong - influence everything else you do. When you get a proper perspective of your perceptions, you may be surprised how many other things fall into place. - Roger Birkman Sent from my BlackBerry

Be what you must

A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be at peace with himself. What a man can be, he must be. - Abraham Maslow Sent from my BlackBerry

Don't worry

As for worrying about what other people might think - forget it. They aren't concerned about you. They're too busy worrying about what you and other people think of them. - Michael le Boeuf Sent from my BlackBerry

Power within

Most of us can learn to live in perfect comfort on higher levels of power. Everyone knows that on any given day there are energies slumbering in him which the incitements of that day do not call forth. Compared with what we ought to be, we are only half awake. It is evident that our organism has stored-up reserves of energy that are ordinarily not called upon - deeper and deeper strata of explosible material, ready for use by anyone who probes so deep.
