Breathe In This Moment

“If you feel anxiety or depression, you are not in the present. You are either anxiously projecting the future or depressed and stuck in the past. The only thing you have any control over is the present moment; simple breathing exercises can make us calm and present instantly.” ― Tobe Hanson

Do you embrace the moment fully that you are currently breathing in? Think about it. Are you embracing the moment right now?

Today is a beautiful Sunday morning.  I woke up early to start my day. The sun was shining through the window and I could tell it was already a perfect comfortable temperature outside. I started out ok, with my normal focus on ensuring I was approaching the day with the right attitude, focused on gratitude and blessings. But shortly thereafter I found myself starting to think about all of the things I could do to feel productive. I was getting ready to make a list of things to get accomplished and I could feel myself already getting anxious about needing to get going.

But I decided to stop. I could feel the beauty of mother nature calling me, and I decided to go out on the deck because it looked so peaceful outside. It was so perfect I decided to bring my cup of coffee and my little Bose speaker out to listen to some peaceful music while I took in the moment. All of a sudden I felt the anxiety of needing to get things done melt away. Probably the best thing I could of done today.

Sometimes we just need to stop and breathe in the moment. It's good for the soul. It's good to keep in mind that it's okay to take some time to just enjoy being alive. Take in the blessing that is happening right now. No need to over complicate it. No need to worry about 'later'. Life is a collection of moments! Learn to enjoy as many as you can. You might be having one right now! Just enjoy it.

Have a blessed day! Make today great.
