Overcome Tough Times With Resilience and Perseverance

"Life doesn't get easier or more forgiving, we get stronger and more resilient." - Steve Maraboli

When it comes to tough times it is easy to get overwhelmed with what's going on in the moment.  How bad things are, how frustrated we are, how painful it is, how huge the issue feels.  The reality is, everything passes. Difficult times never stay difficult forever. No matter what the situation is, the way we deal with it make the difference as to how we come out of it.  The difference comes from resilience and perseverance. Don't give up and don't give in.

Your resilience is your ability to adapt, shift your mindset and bounce back when things don't necessarily go the way that you had hoped, or planned. To be resilient means that you see the situation for what it is, nothing more, nothing less. Don't dwell on it. Learn to change the way you think about difficulties and problems. Think of it as a challenge, not as a paralyzing event. Isn't it funny that nobody likes difficulties and problems, but everyone loves a challenge. It is a small shift in your way of thinking. There is always lessons that can be learned. There are always ways for us to improve. Everything can be an opportunity for growth. Acknowledge the situation, determine what can be learned from it, let it go, and move forward.

So, if you are going through a tough time, instead of focusing on how tough it is, focus on how tough you can be. Build up your resilience. Feel your strength and realize how strong you truly are. You'll get through it even stronger. Things don't necessarily get easier, we just change the impact or meaning by how we choose to deal with them. And through this we get stronger and wiser.

AN OATH OF PERSEVERANCE:

  1. I will never give up so long as I know I am right.
  2. I will believe that all things work out for me if I hang on until the end.
  3. I will be courageous and undismayed in the face of odds.
  4. I will not permit anyone to intimidate me or deter me from my goals.
  5. I will fight to overcome all physical limitations and setbacks.
  6. I will try again and again and yet again to accomplish my dreams.
  7. I will take new faith and resolution from the knowledge that all successful people have had to overcome defeat and adversity.
  8. I will never surrender to discouragement or despair, no matter what.

Never give up, and always remain confident in what you do. Never say that you cannot do something or that something seems impossible. We are limited only by what we allow ourselves to be limited by. Ourselves, our mindset, our thoughts, our beliefs. We can become the masters of our own reality by changing our mindset, thoughts and beliefs. No obstacle is too big or too difficult to handle or overcome, because what lies inside of you is much greater than what lies ahead of you.

We can be bigger than anything that can happen to us.  All these things, sorrow, misfortune, and suffering, are outside our door. Deep inside in the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want.  It is never too late to be what you might have been. It's never too late to become the person you want to be.

Let the difficulties that you face make you more determined to achieve your objectives and win against the odds. After all, difficulties are just things to overcome.

Make today great!
