Perseverance and Confidence

"Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something, and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained." - Marie Curie

I've spent a lot of time in reflection during this pandemic, which could be deemed a blessing or a curse. Daily challenges test our perseverance and self-confidence even in normal times. But with all of this continued uncertainty on a day-to-day basis our anxiety is heightened and more sensitive. With this can come additional fear and doubt if we let it. We begin to resort to negative thinking and look to place blame or make up excuses. Which always leads to negative action or no action at all. We can come up with a dozen excuses for why we haven't accomplished more in our life. Not enough time. Not enough money. Not enough talent. Bad luck.

If you don't control your thoughts, your thoughts will control you. Either you pick yourself up and battle back, or you give into self-defeat. Stop. Change your perceptions. Life doesn't happen TO you, it happens FOR you. Take responsibility and realize that you have the power to choose. You choose your thoughts. You choose your actions. You choose the meaning and the feelings of everything you are experiencing. Through it you can persevere.

Believe in yourself. Have confidence in yourself. Know that you are enough. Strong enough, talented enough, smart enough. You can do what you put your mind to doing.

We are living in constant change. You can either help to create it, or you end up just being a result of it. It may not be easy, but it will be worth it. And you are worth it.
