The Spirit Of Christmas
Christmastime has always been one of my favorite times of year. As a kid, of course, it meant getting gifts! As I grew older, however, it became more about the giving! After all, it's the season of giving, so people tend to focus more on others during this time of year. It's in the spirit of the season that we spend hours shopping for gifts for family, friends and colleagues. Or some of us are looking for ways to give to people in need. All in all, we are seeking to find ways to add value to other people, intentionally.
The best thing about this is, in reality, you can do this every day. It doesn't just have to happen once a year. If we seek to find ways to add value to other people's lives on a daily basis, we can achieve and receive a life filled with significance. Strive to not only make that the spirit of Christmas, but every day!
The true spirit of Christmas comes from deep inside us. It is experienced and expressed in our ability to exchange joy and love with others. For our inner joy today comes from our willingness to share the moment, and the spirit of Christmas with others. To reach beyond ourselves in whatever ways we can to help make today as special for others as it can be for us.
Let us also not forget today's true meaning, as we celebrate the birth of Christ. Be thankful to Him for ALL the blessings in your life and for gift of life itself!
With the recent passing of my mom, I was reminded that life is short. We mourn for those no longer with us, but we must not forget to celebrate those who are still with us.
In all things, let us always remember to give thanks. Life is good if we learn to live it! Smile often. Have fun. Laugh with others. Listen to music that makes you feel good. Sing like no one is listening and dance like no one is watching. Take care of yourself. Do your share to make things better, always. Carry an Attitude of Gratitude in all you do, for gratitude enables us to move on, grow and develop; with it comes peace, joy, laughter, good times and memories-in-the-making, to your life and to everyone around you. Practice those little random acts of kindness daily. Share with others. Be courteous and respectful to everyone. Love. Forgive. In all you do: Give it your all and give it your best. Do what you love and love what you do. Be responsible. Be positive. Be humble. Take action toward your goals daily. Take risks. Learn something new. Try harder. Try again. Don't give up and don't give in. Believe in yourself and believe in your dreams. Dream big. Don't wait. Start now.
Live each day with gratitude and thankfulness. Live each day focused on adding value and significance. From home to home, and heart to heart, from one place to another. The warmth and joy of Christmas, brings us closer to each other. Make every day Christmas. Make the rest of your days, the best of your days! Merry Christmas to all.
Make today great!
