Thought of the Day...Don't Give Up and Don't Give In
It's only a few days into the New Year and I'm already hearing people feeling let down, unmotivated, overwhelmed and falling into their same old habits. Cursing the start of 2010 as if the change of the calendar was going to make all the difference. Really? Already?
See, we all just need to get out of that mindset. Start taking responsibility and charge of our own lives. What are YOU doing to make a positive CHANGE in your life daily?
How is YOUR self motivation? What GOOD HABITS are YOU forming to create the life YOU DESIRE? Jim Rohn said "Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going."
Are you doing everything possible to create positive change? What would you be willing to do for 3 weeks if you KNEW it would make a positive difference in your life? Would you wake up everyday and focus on starting off with a positive attitude? Would you focus on all the things you have rather than on the things you don't? Would you refocus on your dreams? Would you set an action plan and create a list of goals that tie into your dreams? Would you study and read about things you want to change? Would you be cautious of your surroundings and associations to avoid negativity? Would you stop making excuses and take action NOW? Would you believe in yourself and believe you can and will achieve anything you sete your mind to? What would YOU be willing TO DO? It only takes 21 days to form a habit...3 Weeks!! Isn't your happiness worth it? You form habits everyday...either good...or bad. It's your CHOICE. Make that DECISION and take action NOW to do something about it. Don't hesitate. Don't wait for circumstances to be "just right"...because they will never be.
Every journey begins with that first step. Take it. Think of that "step" this way...if you had a new baby, how long do you think you would try to teach them to walk before you said "It's no use...they'll never walk". Well, you're probably thinking..."Well, I'd never do that...we'll keep trying until they walk". Why should your goals be any different? If things aren't turning out the way you want...try again. If it still doesn't work...try again. If it still doesn't work...try something different, and try again. Don't give up and don't give in.
